Hi everyone, to me this one's a real riddle - it doesn't seem to be a sawfly larva, but for Hypera it seems to be too slim, or not? Who can help? Thanks a lot! Lennart Length 8 mm, 2015-07-07, Northern Germany, S-H, Mohrkirch, fallow land, found between a small pond and a hedge on grass Lennart Bendixen attached the following image: [121.48Kb] |

Looks like the Scaeva pyrastri larva in Rotheray's 1994 colour guide.

Great - I haven't thought of any Diptera, but this could be the solution indeed :-) Thanks a lot, Paul! |
