Hi everyone,

I'm a bit lost with this specimen found in my garden 2 days ago in north France.
Using D'assis Fonseca i find Spilogona genus (Radio cubital node totally bare) but using the same key, it is a dead end:
- Arista hairing is really big, but there is no ad on middle tibia...
I looked at S dispar, but there is no ventral bristle on tibia 2.
So am I wrong on the genus, or is it a specie that isn't in this key? (Recorded from Belgium there is Spilogona carbonella for which i couldn't any information, and S falleni, that could be a synonym of S litorea Fallen?)

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
