I thought this might be Empis livida, but my Empidid literature is .. well .. absent till now.
I hope the awful pinning does not bother too much.

Empis livida, quite easy to distinguish because the posterior veins veins from the discal do not reach the wing margin. A male.

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
