Mat',

I guess your image posting problem is due to image size.

Try reducing your image (on your computer) to 500 pixels wide, and less than 250k (really, with this size it is easy to keep the image under 100k, or even 50k).

Then attach this reduced image to your post.

The problem was that the image link was to a file on the local computer, which cannot be accessed from the internet. It should have been a link to an image on a remote server or an attachment. Smile

It's a Chrysops alright,
quite atypical,
I would guess Ch. caecutiens f. ludens, which would make sense if it si from the south of France. Is it ?

in fact, I saw this fly in the center of France (Ni?vre 58). it is on the northern rivet of Loire. (sorry, I'm not sure than my english is good)
