 Asilidae larvae in soil?

Dear Diptera Experts, We have found these larvae in the soil of a forest nursery in Northern Germany mid of December 2014. The larvae are about 20 mm. Since in some places, the Abies liners have heavily damaged roots, I wonder if these larvae could be responsible? Does anyone know what they are? Thank you for your help! Thank you Atylotus, also for the links to the pdf files. With the help of the key, i tried to figure out at least the subfamily, but am not sure. |
