I found these micro moths earlier this year in southern England - can anyone give them a name? They were about 4mm long

Hi Chris, Try Pancalia leuwenhoekella, see: http://ukmoths.or...hp?id=2013 I think it is listed as nationally scarce somewhere, but I've seen it fairly often on Chiltern chalk grassland. Thanks Martin - the description fits my moths perfectly, as they were photographed on Hartslock, which is covered in the foodplant (Hairy Violet). I look forward to seeing the Carcelia any time |
