I found these micro moths earlier this year in southern England - can anyone give them a name? They were about 4mm long Smile

I think it is listed as nationally scarce somewhere, but I've seen it fairly often on Chiltern chalk grassland. There are some similar species but it looks okay for this one. Lovely photoSmile

I've got a Carcelia to show you next time I'm near ReadingGrin

Thanks Martin - the description fits my moths perfectly, as they were photographed on Hartslock, which is covered in the foodplant (Hairy Violet). Smile

I look forward to seeing the Carcelia any time Smile

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
