is this a Chrysotimus species, and if so is it possible to say if it's flaviventris or molliculus? It appears to have a black tip to the abdomen thanks, Jeremy jeremyr attached the following image: [58.72Kb] Edited by jeremyr on 07-08-2014 10:47 |

Quoting Grichanov (2006): Genus Chrysotimus Loew Antenna entirely black; apical section of CuA1 shorter than basal section; 1.5-2.5.......molliculus (Fallén) Antenna yellow, only postpedicel somewhat darkened; apical section of CuA1longer than basal section; 1.25-2.0... flaviventris (von Roser) The antenna character matches flaviventris. Abdomen color is sexually dimorphic in the genus. He may have omitted it from the key for that reason. |
