A Tachinidae ? (maybe ?) found on a door, in France, Oxelaere, the June 17 2014

That is a well-known member of the family Pseudotachinidae, one of the most common: Frauenfeldia rubricosa !

The Family is now Rhinophoridae and his name Tricogena rubricosa ??

O sorry, you are right, it changed genera. Still cannot get used to that.

Pseudotachinidae, of course, is pulling your leg.

I am very glad the only Rhinophoridae in my region is the distinctive Melanophora roralis. Family identification of Oestroidea is so much easier than in Europe.

It was probably introduced along with Oniscus asellus.
