It's not Bibio, but the other genus Dilophus Impossible to give a species name. Theo Zeegers |

Hi Theo, Off course you're right  I meant I couldn't find any male Bibionidae images with red eyes Shame it can't be ID-ed. Is it just genitals and DNA that do the trick? Andr? Jas |

Actually, with the spines on the femur not in a single row and the black humeri, I think it is rather safe to assume D. febilis.

I agree with Paul, if you can see the feature he mentioned. But I couldn't for sure. Anyway, D. febrilis is by far the most common species. Theo |
