hello Flyforum, Yesterday I found this Muscidae sp. on a treebark (oak). Looking at this fly I see a dark M-M vein, and curved. Also R-M vein is a bit dark and broad. Calypter is white with a yellow outline and quite visible. Arista is plumosa, Antenne black Remarkable big black palps colour legs: black/grey - redbraun - black I though of Phaonia sp., but what kind of Phaonia? Late answer, I know, but this one is still bothering me. If it is not a female Phaonia palpata, I don't know what it could be. All characters given by the keys seem to match, except for the aristal hairs that should be longer. Don't know how important it is. Regards, Edited by Stephane Lebrun on 23-07-2007 14:02 Stephane. |
