This bristly fly had enormous yellows pads on the tarsi (reminds me of the folk song The Golden Slippers).

Tachinidae?

Measured 10.2 mm. In forest but near open areas, West Virginia USA. Date 29 April 2007.

ID help appreciated!

My guess would be Sarcophagidae, partly because of the yellow pulvilli Smile

Thanks, Chris! I will put Sarcophagidae in the title in hopes of luring in the Sarcophagid fans.
