Hi * locality - Silgueiros - Viseu - PORTUGAL * date - 2007.04.29 * size - 6 mm (medium fly) * habitat - woodland (many ferns (some small trees..), Fagus spp., Pinus spp., Acacia sp., Urtica sp., and others) * substrate - Caught with entomological net, but this fly was above moss. Caught the fly in a shadow zone, and near a river. The trees reaching about 5 m. Never seen a so green fly like this one. I think this is chironomid fly. EDIT --> Title changed from "Green Chironomidae" to "green Chironomidae - Stenochironomus gibbus". There was a slight doubt about gibbus so the title turns now: "green Chironomidae - Stenochironomus cf. gibbus" jorgemotalmeida attached the following image: [187.1Kb] Edited by jorgemotalmeida on 03-05-2007 00:49 |
