hello flyforum,

I found this empis(?) specie on my balcony yesterday evening.

The eyes seems not normal, are they?

Is identification possible?

It's a Rhamphomyia and it must be extremely unhappy with sunken eyes like that. Normally you would see that only in dead and dehydrated specimens.

There has been no rain during a month.., even these flies are dying Shock
