Location: Hungary Habitat: Orchard Size: Tiny Date: 22-04-07 The length of this wasp did not reach 1 mm. I had found it on a blossom of quince. What is it? As far as I know the smallest individuals among the Hymenoptera are Cynipidae and Mymaridae. . eguzki attached the following image: [44.24Kb] |

True, but this one is neither a Cynipid nor Mymarid. This is a braconid, so family Braconidae. It belongs in the subfamily Aphidiinae, which are parasitoids of Aphids! Greetings, Greetings, Gerard Pennards |

Kill it?? I will never kill any kinds of insects in my garden!! As you write me it is a very important aphid killer! Such thought had never entered my mind! Thank you for your help! |
