Photographed yesterday at Leerdam, Netherlands. I found several of these flies sunning on tree trunks near the water. They were appr. 7-8 mm long. Arista were feathered. There seems to be a row of hairs on the lower part of the eyes.
I guess they are Anthomyiidae? Would it be possible to tell which genus?

Thanks, Stephane!
As a matter of fact I thought of Polietes, because of the row of hairs on the eyes, bluish shine and broad abdomen, but it did not match the species I know (lardarius and meridionalis).

Not too common fly, by the way...
My opinion is:
1. Stephane is too modestWink
2. N2 and N3 - good addition to Gallery. My test - to move a little bit grey scale, especialy in N2, to make more details visible.

Thank you for confirmation, Nikita.
It is the first genus with more than one species in the Netherlands I have completed Smile
I will send the photos to the gallery. However, I do not have an application on my computer to adjust the colors, I think.
