managed to catch this one hovering at about 1 metre today - I presume its flight pattern is a key to its ID?

I think an Anthomyiid male looking for a partner, with a smaller chance of this belonging to another Calyptrate family. I doubt anyone will hazard an identification based on this pic, but maybe the others will refute me. The main message is that not only hoverflies hover...
