I was wondering if you may be able to identify this they were on my ceiling not sure if they fly ?

Do you have better picture? It seemc to be Coleoptera: Elateridae (click beetle).

It is polite to post where in the world the photo was taken because it can help a lot with identifications Wink

To me it looks like a beetle - why do you think it might be a fly? Sites like BugGuide.net will help with general IDs of all insect groups in the USA.
