Hallo Bavaria, 20.July Several 2-3mm small flys where at Nymphaea alba at a little pond. I have not really an idea. Family Chloropidae? Regards, Dennis Dennis attached the following image: ![]() [55.86Kb] Edited by Dennis on 09-08-2013 07:16 |

Not Chloropidae. Could be Ephydridae, which have weak posterior veins, a subcostal break, and aquatic habits. |

Might be Hydrellia that I have seen running around on Nymphaea. |

Oh, I forgot family Ephydridae. I would agree with Hydrellia sp. There are other small ones which looks quiet similar, but they have more hairs at the Thorax. Thank you both! Regards, Dennis |

Hallo Tadeusz Is it even possible to make a reliable determination with these photos? I unfortunately do not have more photos of them. Regards, Dennis Edited by Dennis on 17-08-2013 10:24 |
