Hallo

Bavaria, 20.July
Several 2-3mm small flys where at Nymphaea alba at a little pond.
I have not really an idea. Family Chloropidae?

Regards,
Dennis

Not Chloropidae. Could be Ephydridae, which have weak posterior veins, a subcostal break, and aquatic habits.

Might be Hydrellia that I have seen running around on Nymphaea.

Oh, I forgot family Ephydridae.
I would agree with Hydrellia sp. There are other small ones which looks quiet similar, but they have more hairs at the Thorax.

Thank you both!

Regards,
Dennis

Hallo Tadeusz

Is it even possible to make a reliable determination with these photos?
I unfortunately do not have more photos of them.

Regards,
Dennis
