Hello, This one was mining some Helianthus leaf : ![]() (length 1.5 mm - June 2004 - Saint Apollinaire (21), France) Here is what the pupa looks like : ![]() And finally, the imago, 10 days after the mining larva : ![]() (length 1.5 mm, wings excluded) Does anyone know its name ? A quick check in the books leads to Phytomyza atricornis but if I remember well, that really covered two species. I will dig a little deeper and get back to you.

Hi once again, I got some difficulties to find P. atricornis in Fauna Europaea... Please correct me if I'm wrong, but actual name should be Chromatomyia horticola (Goureau 1851) ? Do you confirm ? Benoit MARTHA ![]() |

The fly certainly looks like Chromatomyia horticola - the lack of acrostichal setae is a good clue.
