Also found today at Leerdam, Netherlands. Body length appr. 5 mm.

That's the first thing that came to my mind. But I had never seen such a strange, broad chironomid with such spotted wings. Well, I guess you find them in all shapes and colours Shock

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
