Hi all,

Andreas Haselb?ck found this fly the other day (March 15th 2007) on the shores of the river Main near Wiesbaden (Germany) and asked around (to no avail) first here on entomology.de and later here on insektenfotos.de, so I offered him to do "the English thing" (well, dutchish-english to be precise Shock ) and ask the experts here Wink

Is this animal really strange/rare or is the picture just not suited for recognizing distinguishing characteristics?

Many thanks in advance!
Cheers, Arp

Looks like a Tachinidae of the tribe Wagneriini, possibly Ramonda.
