yes, sure that this is Sepsidae.
I would say a Sepsis sp. with that spot in wing. Let's go wait for confirmation. Smile

Yes, Jorge, it is Sepsis OK.
Early season, yellow legs, general jizz and especialy only 1 pair of dc bristles point to S. punctum.

not sure, but I can see a preapical bristle in tibia. M vein not hard bent as it happens, I think (not sure), with Ulidiidae fly.
fix me if I am getting wrong the main characters for distinguish between Sepsidae / Ulidiidae.

1. I forgot to say that it is female.
2. Jorge, I think that the only Ulidiidae which reminds Sepsis is Seioptera vibrans, but we have Sieoptera in Gallery.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
