Two different keys Belshaw and Day, have led me to Admontia on this one but I can't find a decent picture to confirm. The abdomen has yellowish-bronze reflections, the squamae are orange and the wing bases yellow. The head is deep; Characters supporting Admontia in Belshaw are - two long strong av bristles on mid tibia, and the scutellar bristles look like those for A. grandicornis in Belshaw (the small apicals are shorter than the pair of pre-scutellars; the basal bristles are thinner than the other two marginal pairs). But this is very rare in UK? Caught grassland on sandy soil, Lincoln , 14/6/12.

Theo is probably the best judge but it looks like Admontia maculisquama to me - nice find - Admontia spp. are never common

A dorsal shot (of the thorax) would help, but so far, I totally agree ! Theo |
