Is this Cheilosia vernalis? I've run it through the key in Stubbs and after the usual head scratching that is what I have come up with. Female, 6mm, from 22 July 2006, east London cemetery park. Darkened wings. Hairy humeri (just begging for a silly rhyme - hoverflies with hairy humeri hardly ever have horrible hiccups at home). Glossy sternites. Hairy eyes. Abdomen broadly oval.
