As you can see the edge is inflated, the only inhabitant found inside is at the bototm of image.

So I stored a apple leaf with above 'symptoms' for a while. I opened it todaj, since I had it in a box, there is a distinct chance that adult thing ( Cecidomyiidae ?) came out of it, the black thing was 100% sure inside. Any comment ? Hi, the "black thing" is definitely a pupa of Eulophidae, Chalcidoidea. Maybe there will hatch a wasp soon!? Best regards, Marc |

The larva in the first post is one of Neuroptera, Conipterygidae, not the one responsible for the mine and the damage to the leaf.

Lost black pupa, will try to find another, doh the thing is pretty rare, I have seen only 2-3 samples. And yes 1. image likely not 'it', as it is shown the cocoon was 'unzipped' when fond. Thanks for inf given so far. Edited by BubikolRamios on 05-08-2012 19:35 highly searchable nature photo galery --> http://agrozoo.ne....jsp?l2=en |
