There seems to be a strongish pd apical on t3. Perhaps it's one of the three Botanophila spp. that have this feature. B. maculipes is ruled out by 4 avs on t3 and leg colour, which would leave apiciseta and jacobaeae. Or it could be a different genus altogether  |

I've just noticed your suggestion of Adia sp.. This is ruled out if I'm right in seeing the strong pd, and in any case it should have only one av on the hind tibia. |

Thanks so much Stephen. This family is a little confusing to my current knowledge without keys. I don't know how to call the thread. What do you think about ? I will upload another image at a glance... I'm not sure if there is one setae stronger or if it is because the perspective... It's a difficult family even with a key! Often the only real way is to get a male specimen under the microscope. I think your title is fine  Someone else may have a better idea. |
