All collected males ID by Marina Krivosheina as H. griseola, females - as H. sp.
Two question, please:
1. Is ID enought for Gallery?
2. To distinguish sexes - female's abdomen wider, but with more pointed end?

Hi Nikita
I'd say the ID is fine, and yes, your description of a female abdomen is spot on! Smile

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
