Hello!

Still photographing Muscids... ;-). Are all these from our house wall and from trees at the forest edge from yesterday (Ostwestfalen/Germany) females of Phaonia subventa? Length about 10-12 mm. Thanks!

Hi Juergen.
1. I think 1,2 and 3,4 - two different flies.
2. Accorning my key 3,4 fits with Ph. rufiventris - 1ac presut, antennae yellow/black. But as I wrote in:
http://www.diptera.info/forum/viewthread.php?forum_id=5&thread_id=4501&pid=20044#post_20044
currently I have doubts in my key.

Pics 1 and 2 are different individuals, 3 and 4 show the same animal, if I remember correctly this time.

On 3,4 I could not see the dark middle band often on the abdomen of P. subventa. That would favour P. rufiventris of course. But it's not clearly visible because of the wings...
Best regards,
Jürgen
