Hello,

this fly is from last april from a valley in south east Sicily. Is was about 8 or 9mm long. Is this an Anthomyiidae? Anything else possible?

Yes, Anthomyiidae. Looks like Hylemya or Hydrophoria - do you have any other images?

Hydrophoria (the hairs on the scutellum show up better here). Probably H. lancifer.
