Hi,

the foto was taken 26. November 2006 in the outside area of the Botanical Garden in Munich, Germany. The insect was one of a group sitting on a water plant. Body length was about 15mm.
Someone told me it could be of family Scymyzidae, can anyone tell me more about the species or give me some web links with fotos for comparison?

Thanks in advance from Germany,
Juergen

Hi Nikita,

thanks a lot, I think you are correct. Now that I know what to look for it's much easier. I'm very faszinated about the colored stripes over the eyes that I have not seen at other insects yet.
Have a nice weekeend!
