This larva occurred rather frequently in crops in Central European Russia (Voronezh region) and fed only upon dindle plants (Sonchus arvensis) which occurred as weeds in cereal crops. This larva is rather big and has its body about 5-6 cm long or even more (last instars). Can somebody help me to id the family and genus it belongs to? One candidate might be Cucullia lactucae. |
