What a mess? What are they doing threesome? I suppose they are Empididae, but what genus and species they belong to? I captured them in winter rye crop last year in Central European Russia during my expedition research. I'll be very grateful if somebody help me to id them.

The empid will be a species of Empis but I doubt that the picture will allow much further identification. I think the prey is a calyptrate fly, maybe a muscid.
