I think this dragonfly belongs to the Coenagrionidae family. Any idea about the genera?

Hi Louis! Thank you for your rapid answer. I have an image from another dragonfly belonging to the same family. Could it be a Coenagrion puella?

I agree with lweit on both accounts.
The first one is a female Ischnura elegans of form infuscans (females of this species occur in five color forms).
The second is indeed a male Coenagrion, but lweit is right that you should examine the ventral view of the second abdominal segment more closely to determine the exact species.

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
