From the way it sits on the leaf, the elongated abdomen and the hairy eyes I'd say this is a male Cheilosia variabilis s.l. With Cheilosia one needs to collect the specimen or have detailed photo's for accurate identification. And even then it can be a pain in the ***. Hope that helps, Ectemnius |
