From midwest Sweden 2006-10-12 (YYYY-MM-DD). On apples. I think this chubby one might be a Tachinid.

Would be nice to see the face a bit clearer ... but it looks a bit like a Phryxe sp. but I'd wait for Theo to see what he thinks Smile

Well, in IDing these kind of greyish Tachinids there is always at least 5 % possibility of mistakes, but in this case, I would say Phryxe vulgaris male.
