Are these two little flies Terellia tussilaginis, male and female ?
(found in Brittany, Jul 2006, size: 6 mm?)

beautiful fly.. but a pest. Sad

I think it is a good signal to see very few tephritids among many fruit trees. Smile
but neither all are pests Wink "Some species are pests, together causing billions of dollars in losses annually, whereas other species are beneficial biological control agents of weeds."
