I took these pictures at Ben Cruachan, Argyll, Scotland in June 2011.

Can anyone give these a name, even if not specifically.

It's best to split threads so that you have 1 insect per thread topic ... otherwise this kind of thing can get confusing Wink

The first wasp looks like Sphecidae to me and the second is Ichnumonidae ... both Hymenoptera but not closely related. If you add more photos it might help - different angles are important but IDs of ichneumonids is usually very hard from photos Wink

The first one looks like Mellinus arvensis (Crabronidae), with somewhat reduced yellow markings when compared the the norm.
