This butterfly has wings made of radios. I think it belongs to the family Alucitidae. An expert knows your particular species? Photographed on a mirror, inside a home in Motril, Granada, Spain. Wingspan with outstretched wings, something less than a centimeter. Thanks in advance for your cooperation and help. Regards Edited by Maherjos on 20-09-2011 11:30 |

Alucita species hard to identify from an image. Male genitalic preparation is needed. An important publication on this matter is: SCHOLZ & E. JÄCKH (1993): Taxonomie und Verbreitung der Westpalaearktischen Alucita-Arten (Lepidoptera: Alucitidae (Orneodidae)). — Alexanor 18 (4): 3-64. |
