This fly has a round head. Is this an Empidid? Is it possible to determine subfamily from the photo? Attracted to lights, West Virginia USA, open area near woodlands, 20 October 2006. Length 3.3 mm. With the white arista I am almost certain. I have no literature for the Nearctic fauna, though.
