Can anyone ID this fly from attached picture. The nearest I can get is the Marsh Fly "Ilione albiseta", But I am not at all convinced. It was on a bullrush reed in a boggy area in North Yorkshire UK (August 2011)

Ilione albiseta has only a few dark spots on its wings: http://www.dipter...to_id=1806 but your fly looks to have a much more extensive pattern, so it must be something else. |

I could guess Limnia unguicornis: http://www.dipter...to_id=2236, but you should probably add "Sciomyzidae" to the title and hope it attracts an expert. |
