Hi, I think my sight's no good, I see it holoptic. All keys giev more importance to the eyes than to the colour of the abdomen (excepting E. megacephalus). This one's abdomen fits E. sepulchralis, but though I looked at it many times I still see it holoptic (and then E. aeneus). The picture was taken in Balearic Islands (both species recorded there) 30. april Any help? Thanks in advance paqui attached the following image: [15.64Kb] |

This is Eristalis sepulchralis male. E.g. the matt patches on the abdomen are quite clear to see on this picture. |
