Hungary. It was the first occasion that I could observe this fly.

Looks like it, but it's not.
Legs are all black.
It's either Nowickia or Peleteria.
The big head suggests Peleteria rubescens, but this is a guess.
We would need to see a side-view

I'd certainly favour Peleteria not Nowickia... it looks too small and thin for Nowickia ... I always think Nowickia looks like a really big, fat fly. Grin I am at a disadvantage though because Peleteria are so rare in UK Sad

Tried to attach an image to a forum post. jpg, 32kB, 72dpi, no blanks, ... File name is correctly displayed, but when I click "Preview Thread" it just vanishes. Help!
