or some kind of mimic, I have not seen anything as red as this in either the wasps or mimics. size similar to regular common wasps i.e. not hornet sized. location milton keynes, buckinghamshire, uk. end of May 2006

No a bee Apidae Nomada cf. lathburiana (Kirby 1802) but you need confirmation.May be close species. Robert
