Apologies for mixing different flies into one thread but Stéphane Brule has sent rather a lot of photos and I don't really expect to be able to get past Family or Genus on most of the groups so this will save some space on the forum Smile

Could anyone confirm that these are dolis and perhaps suggest a genus?

The first 3 photos appear to show the same genus (if the wing venation and colour is characteristic)

Thanks Paul - I know it's a long-shot to ask for IDs when the photos are a bit rough around the edges Smile

It is a long shot to ask for an ID of species of a relatively little studied family in the Neotropics...

Some flies preserved in ethanol and then pinned often get the eyes sunken, how can this be avoided? Best answer: I usually keep alcohol-collected material in alcohol

Yes, dipterologists from far abroad, please buy your copy at veldshop. Stamps will be expensive, but he, the book is unreasonably cheap Smile
