 Special looking Eristalis (29.04.11)

Hello! A not very big Eristalis from end of April at a hedge (northwest Germany). The eyes were looking "special". I have seen something looking extremely similar that, very kindly, André IDed for me. He said mine was Eristalis similis. I think yours is too. I am attaching my Eristalis for comparison.

I had never heard of that species in german forums, but it is listed in the checklist as occuring here.
