At least eleven British species of anthomyiid are known to breed in dung, so there will not be an easy answer here! The best thing is to catch the flies - particularly mating pairs, so that the females can be correctly identified. Better still, try rearing some of these species, so we have immature stages as well. This is a great opportunity to do original research - and outrage your family and neighbours!

oh, difficult for me now, all this pictures are from a trip to the north (of spain), i don?t know when i?ll have time to go again. Curious, i saw many eristalis and other syrphidae i?ve never seen so big as them, maybe atlantic weather is good for them  |
