During cold october in Moscow it is still usefull to open the windows for two profits: less sigaret smoke and some flies still comingGrin
Could it be Fannia canicularis?

If not F. canicularis this is very close indeed. No features metioned in d'Assis Fonseca's key are shown which contradict that identification. A very nice photograph of a very important fly.Since you have a specimen I assume you used a key Nikita. Any problems or raised doubts?

I have only key "Diptera of european part of USSR". This is a grate job and with most families it still works, but with some families (including Fanniidae) this short key almost without illustration is almost useless.
