If not F. canicularis this is very close indeed. No features metioned in d'Assis Fonseca's key are shown which contradict that identification. A very nice photograph of a very important fly.Since you have a specimen I assume you used a key Nikita. Any problems or raised doubts? Robert |

Thank you Paul and Robert. I have only key "Diptera of european part of USSR". This is a grate job and with most families it still works, but with some families (including Fanniidae) this short key almost without illustration is almost useless.
