Seen at riverbanks in species rich moist grasslands on 27 april 2011 in the national Park Drentsche Aa, the Netherlands. Can a species name be given?

I kept searching for look-a-likes. Could it perhaps be a Rhaphium elegantulum? |

No, definitely Argyra. Have not looked at them for a long time, but perhaps it is diaphana.

I was looking at Index of Commanster/Insects/ Flies Dolichopodidae/ and clicked on photo of Rhaphium eleganulum. Then a second photo pops up which shows the much similar abdomen. |

I have checked http://www.comman...idae2.html Argyra sp. is true name of both Rhaphium elegantulum and Rhaphium riparium. Medetera infumata is not Doli at all. Igor Grichanov |

The Medetera infumata is a Phoridae Not a very reliable website concerning identifying flies, I'm afraid.. |
