Hello, i am writing you from germany so please dont look at misspelling and grammar:-) i found this fly on my macrotrip yesterday morning. Location are a wetland-biotop, approx in the middle between Hannover and Paderborn. I took the photo in the evening at 7.p.m. In another german forum somebody gave me the note, that it could be a soldierfly (Odontomyia argentata). what is you opinion? Thanks for you time. cheers Mathias |

Looks like Odontomyia argentata of the Stratiomyidae.
