Hi Could this be Brachyopa? It would be my first one too, like Eumerus. Nice, if this hoverfly could be ID'd. Switzerland, 430 msm, 15.04.2011, near edge of a wood and small wetland, sitting on a big stone Thanks a lot, Kind Regards, Brigitte brigitteu attached the following image: [69.73Kb] Edited by brigitteu on 16-04-2011 13:00 |

Hi Andre mmpf, not catched. I didn't thought that it could be a syrphid. At home with the big picture on display screen I saw that it coud be a Brachyopa. Today I was again at nearly same place. 2 Brachyopas I missed (they are very fast because they are doing nothing then whatching the photographer.), 3rd was sitting down on my arm. Now this syrphid is sitting in a small tube, wating on its travel (I hope that it is a Brachyopa). Thanks for Confirmation/ID Brigitte Edit: attach: Brachyopa from today (not catched) brigitteu attached the following image: [67.05Kb] Edited by brigitteu on 16-04-2011 12:59 |
